The Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, Nigeria is a tertiary care centre that offers clinical services at the tertiary level to the local population and referred cases from the environ.  The hospital also engages in training of medical interns and resident doctors in all specialties and some sub specialties in medicine. It is also involved in the training of other cadres of health care workers/providers such as nurses, midwives, laboratory and pharmacy technicians amongst others. African Journal of Medical and Health Sciences, a publication of Federal teaching hospital, Abakaliki, Nigeria, is a peer-reviewed online journal with Semiannual print on demand compilation of issues published.

This is a portal that claims to have over 2,400,000 downloadable e-books (PDFs). It has a keyword search search engine plus a broad subject category listing. Search listings are limited to 100 titles so precise keyword searches should be used. Each title entry notes the language of the e-book and MB size Due to the size of the full-text books, downloading can be time consuming especially if there is limited bandwidth.

Freebookcentre.net contains links to thousands of free online technical books. Our collections include core Computer Science, Electronics, Science, Medical and many more. This section contains many topics on medicine and each subtopic contains many free medical books and resources and these are highly beneficial for doctors and students. Some of the resources in this section can be viewed online and some of them can be downloaded.
