Career Opportunities
Courses are designed to give a general training to generalized managers who will be exposed to all functional areas of Accounting. The Accounting Degree Programme is structured in a way that will enable graduates perform effectively as Accountants in the public or private sector.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR UNDERGRADUATES
The entry requirements for Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree Programme of Bingham University are as follows:
UME
- Candidates are required to possess at least five credits in WAEC or NECO including English Language and Mathematics Economics and two other related science subjects at not more than two sittings.
- Candidates are required to select English Language Mathematics, Economics and any other subject in UME & JAMB examinations
Direct Entry
- Candidates are required to possess five WAEC or NECO ‘O’ Level credits including English Language, Mathematics and Economics at not more than two sittings.
- Pass IJMB in at least two subjects one of which must be Accounting, Business Administration or Economics
- National Diploma in Accounting or its equivalent from a recognized higher institution, with a grade not less upper credit admitted into year two while lower credit is admitted into year on of the programme.
- N.C.E Accounting or its equivalent from a recognized institution with a very good passes admitted into year one of the program.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR POSTGRADUATES
The following may qualify for admission into the specified postgraduate programmes:
- Graduates of Bingham or any other recognized university;
- Holders of the Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least an upper credit pass in relevant disciplines;
- HND holders with lower credits in relevant disciplines but with a minimum of five years relevant post-qualification experience; and
- Holders of other professional qualifications which may be acceptable to the Board of the School of Postgraduate Studies and Senate of the University.
Masters Degrees
- Holders of first degree of Bingham with first or second class honors;
- Holders of equivalent qualifications from other recognized universities;

A candidate with a degree lower than second class honours may be eligible if either
- He has good relevant Postgraduate Diploma with at least an upper credit pass; or
- He passes any prescribed qualifying examination for admission;
- Holders of any other qualification with or without relevant experience which are acceptable to the School of Postgraduate Studies Board.
Doctor of Philosophy Degree
- Candidates who hold a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree (other than Professional masters, eg, MBA, MPA, MIPSA, etc) of BINGHAM with GPA > 4.0 (on a 5 point scale);
- Candidates with equivalent qualifications from other recognized universities.
- Candidates with any other qualifications with relevant working experience which are acceptable to the Board and Senate.
