The Nature, Concept and scope of Business Policy & Strategy, value of strategic management will be covered as the introductory part of the course. This will be followed by the study of vision, mission and objectives, stages in strategic management process- Formulation, Implementation, Evaluation and Control. The techniques of organizational and environmental analysis including, SWOT, PEST, Corporate, Business, and Functional strategies, Strategic plan as well as Strategic decision making will be taught in detail.
In addition, assessment of companies and corporate strategy as well as strategy evaluation and control will be covered as part of the course. The corporate functions and policy areas that will be covered are marketing, production, personnel, procurement and finance.
Other aspects of the course include: Social Responsibility of Business and Ethics ; Business Ethics; Global Issues in Strategic Management – the Global Challenges; Strategies for Competing in Global Markets; Local Markets and; Cultural Variations and Case studies.
The methodology involves teaching contacts, assignments, tests, continous assignments, revisions and examination.
