As part of the activities of the 69th Regular Meeting, the members of the Governing Council recently embarked on an inspection tour of major ongoing infrastructural projects across the University Campus.

The inspection exercise was aimed at assessing the progress, level of completion, and compliance of the projects with approved standards, while also providing strategic oversight ahead of their scheduled completion before the end of the year.

The projects inspected include: The Faculty of Law Library, the Faculty of Education Building, the Prof John Kennedy Opara Innovative Showroom, the extension of Chief Seth Oshatoba male Hostel building and the two new 109 room hostel buildings.

During the tour, contractors handling the various sites briefed Council members, assuring them that the projects were at advanced stages and progressing according to schedule. They further affirmed that quality standards and timelines were being strictly adhered to.

Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Andrew Haruna, FNAL, FLAN commended the progress recorded so far but emphasized the importance of quality, professionalism, and timely delivery. He charged the contractors to remain committed to excellence, noting that infrastructure development is critical to the University's growth and academic excellence.

The Faculty of Law Library is expected to enhance access to academic resources, while the newly constructed  hostels will provide an additional rooms for atleast a 1000 students, significantly improving student accommodation on campus.

The inspection team include: the Chairman of the University Governing Council, Prof. Andrew Haruna,Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Haruna Kuje Ayuba, members of Council, Principal Officers of the university as well as the Director of works and the Director of Public Affairs.
