Directorate of Public Affairs
The Directorate of Public Affairs (DPA) is responsible for managing the image and reputation of the University. This is carried out through robust public relations and media strategies for building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with the University’s internal and external publics. In order to achieve its mandate, the Directorate maintains regular interface with the office of the Vice-Chancellor, Faculties, Centres, and Departments.
Core Functions and Responsibilities
- Coverage of university’s events, including videos, photographs and writing news reports for media usage.
- Establishing and sustaining media contacts for effective coverage of university’s activities.
- Production of Bingham University’s bi-monthly news bulletin.
- Tracking media coverage of university’s activities for evaluation.
- Advising the Vice-Chancellor on media related matters.
- Writing press releases for media use.
- Planning and coordinating courtesy visits to the University.
- Production of documentaries and jingles for the University.
- Website content management for the University amongst other duties.
