The Boys’ Brigade Nigeria recently installed the Vice-Chancellor of Bingham University, Prof. Haruna Kuje Ayuba  as Grand Patron of the 9th Company, Uke Battalion Council. 

The investiture ceremony which attracted members of the University community, Brigade officers, and well-wishers also honoured new Patrons, the Captain, and other Officers of the company. 

Delivering the sermon titled “Good Soldiers of Christ” from 2 Timothy 2:1-7, The University Chaplain, Rev. Dr. Joseph T. Dyaji admonished the Grand Patron and the newly installed officers using the six qualities of a good soldier of Christ which includes: strength in grace and faith, ability to teach and mentor others, endurance through hardship, discipline, diligence in work, and obedience to God at all times.

Rev. Dr. Dyaji prayed for and charged the new Captain, officers, and members of the Brigade to discharge their duties with a sense of responsibility and to shepherd God’s flock with the fear of God.

Highlights of the investiture included the presentation of certificates to Captain Joshua Wudiri and other newly installed officers, the capping of officers, and a group photograph session.

Among dignitaries present were the University Librarian, Assoc. Prof. Joshua Magoi; Member of the 6th Governing Council, Rev. Prof. Stephen O. Y. Baba; Chaplains; and other guests.

Elder Israel Gajere, Chairman of the 9th Company, Uke Battalion Council, performed the ceremonial functions. He appreciated the University management and well-wishers for their turnout and support.

The 9th Company, Uke Battalion Council, Bingham University Chapter, now moves forward under the patronage of Prof. Ayuba with renewed commitment to building disciplined, Christ-centered young leaders.
