Biography

Confidence Anyanwu (Ph.D), a CUI-TWAS Scholar (2017/2018), was born in Umuahia, Nigeria. She obtained a B.Sc in Microbiology from Madonna University, Nigeria (2009), and subsequently completed her M.Sc (2013) and Ph.D (2021) in Microbiology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, after the compulsory NYSC program (2010/2011). She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (2012) from Usmanu Danfodiyo Uninversity, Sokoto, Nigeria. She has since 2014 till present, taught mainly medical microbiology courses in the Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, Bingham University, Karu, Nigeria, where she has also held administrative posts such as the Departmental Seminar/Research Coordinator (2018 to present), Departmental Examination Officer (2016/2017) and Level Coordinator/Students advisor (2015 to present). She was a one-time foreign intern/researcher at the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) headquarters, Islamabad, Pakistan (2017/2018).

Confidence Anyanwu (Ph.D) is a stellar researcher, trainer, young achiever and a resourceful member of the STEM community. She is a member of the Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), Nigerian Society for Microbiology (NSM) and American Society of Microbiology (ASM)
