Biography

Professor Bamidele Joseph Okoli was born in Osun State to Engr. Hyacinth Okoli and Mrs. Rose Okoli of Umudioka, Akwa South, Anambra State. He completed his primary education at African Church Primary School, Oke-ilewo, Ogun State in 1991. Subsequently, he attended Gateway High School, Ita Eko, Ogun State, where he graduated with honors in June 1997. Between September 1997 and June 2001, he pursued a degree in Chemical Sciences at the Federal University of Agriculture, Ogun State, emerging as the top graduating student. He later obtained a Master's degree in 2005 and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry in 2015 from the University of Ibadan and Ahmadu Bello University, respectively. His professional journey commenced at the Federal Polytechnic Auchi, Edo State.

With over 18 years of research experience, Professor Okoli has authored more than 48 scientific peer-reviewed publications covering various fields such as chromatographic separation, spectroscopic analysis, structure elucidation, absorption studies, among others. He has been honored with fellowships, research grants, and travel grants from esteemed institutions like Guru Nanak Dev University, the National Research Fund (TETFund), and the University of Lüneburg, Leuphana. Professor Okoli is an esteemed member of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), and currently serves as the Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies at Bingham University. He has supervised and mentored numerous postgraduate students in South Africa and Nigeria and has played a significant role in chemical management programs under the Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja, Nigeria.

Prof. Okoli's contributions to academic literature are widely recognized, with his works garnering significant readership and citations. He has an impressive publication track record, including 21,876 reads on ResearchGate, 534 citations on Google Scholar, an h-index of 12, and 23 Scopus papers. Furthermore, outside of his professional achievements, Prof. Okoli is a family man, married to Dr. Theresa Okoli, with whom he shares three children.
