Professor Michael Adeleye is a Professor of Experimental and Applied Nuclear Physics and has served as the Head of the Department of Physics at Bingham University. He holds a doctorate in Nuclear Physics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education. With over three decades of professional experience, he has taught at Bingham University as well as at three prestigious high schools in Nigeria and South Africa: Adesoye College in Offa, Loyola Jesuit College in Abuja, and the African Leadership Academy in Johannesburg.
Professor Adeleye has presented papers at numerous conferences worldwide and has published many peer-reviewed articles in academic journals. He is a Certified Nuclear Security Professional (CNSP), a Registered Teacher, and an approved examiner for Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). Additionally, he is a Science Education Specialist and an alumnus of the renowned World Institute of Nuclear Security (WINS) in Vienna, Austria. He is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Physics (MNIP) and five other professional organizations.
Throughout his career, Professor Adeleye has held various roles, including Dean of Student Affairs and Director of University Consultancy Services. He has served as a member or chairperson on numerous university committees. His contributions to education have earned him several accolades, including the St. Ignatius of Loyola Service Award for Outstanding Contributions to Jesuit Education in Nigeria (1998-2006), the African Leadership Academy Service Award for his role in shaping ALA and developing Africa's future leaders (2009-2012), and the Vice-Chancellor’s Meritorious Service Award for his commitment and contributions to Bingham University in 2023.
Further demonstrating his commitment to education, he was appointed to the Governing Council of Faith Academy in Goshen, Abuja, from 2019 to 2023 and served on the Academic Advisory Board of Crescent Pearl Leadership Academy in Abuja from 2020 to 2021.
