Dr. Marvelous Aigbedion is the Head of the Department of Economics and a former Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Leadership Studies at Bingham University. His leadership has earned Bingham University the reputation of being "The Capital of Entrepreneurship Development for Nigerian Universities."
A young erudite scholar in finance and economic development (with a focus on human capital development), Dr. Aigbedion has authored over ninety-five (95) scholarly articles in reputable journals, including SCOPUS and ISI-indexed publications, as well as book chapters in the African Entrepreneurship Book Series. He has also authored three books on human capital development.
Dr. Aigbedion holds two Bachelor of Science degrees (B.Sc. Economics and B.Sc. Banking & Finance), two Postgraduate Diplomas (Education and Theology), two Master’s degrees (M.Sc. Economics and M.Ed. in Educational Administration and Planning), and two academic PhDs (Ph.D. Economics and Ph.D. Finance). He is a recipient of the Best Ph.D. Thesis Grant and Award (2016) by LAPO Institute.
He has attended and presented papers at national and international conferences and has conducted extensive research, studies, and projects for various national and international organizations, including the World Bank, UN, EU, ILO, NBS, Federal Ministry of Finance, and other ministries, departments, agencies (MDAs), and private organizations.
A member of several national and international professional bodies, Dr. Aigbedion served on the Technical Working Group (TWG) on Poverty Alleviation and Social Security, where he contributed to developing coherent policy frameworks for 2021–2025, 2026–2030, and the Nigeria Agenda 2050 for the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning.
Dr. Marvelous is happily married to his beautiful wife, Mrs. Eunice Aladi Marvelous, and they are blessed with children.
