Biography
Samuel Oguche holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree, (Second Class Honours, Upper Division) (University of Jos, 2004), after which he proceeded to the Nigerian Law School where he graduated with Second Class Honours, Upper Division in the qualifying examination of the Council of Legal Education in 2005, whereupon he was called to the Bar. He subsequently obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) degree (University of Jos, 2011) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law (University of Abuja, 2018). He commenced his career as a Law Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Jos in 2007, where he taught Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Law of Evidence among others. In the process, he also successfully supervised over eighty (80) students’ dissertations.

He is presently a Visiting Associate Professor of Law at the Faculty of Law of the University, where he teaches Law of Evidence, in addition to other courses assigned from time to time. He is a Senior Research Fellow ((Equivalent of an Associate Professor in Nigerian universities). He also obtained Professional Development Certificate in Parliamentary Management of the McGill University, Montreal, Canada, after successfully completing the programme in 2020, with grade “A” in all courses.
He is a prolific writer with over 40 research publications in journals and chapters in books, both nationally and internationally. He serves as a consultant and resource person to several institutions, such as the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS), North East Development Commission (NEDC), Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Yiaga Africa, International Republican Institute (IRI), and the Periscope, among others. He is married with children.
