Bingham University Holds Vice-Chancellor 'S Cocktail Dinner,Staff Award Night

BINGHAM UNIVERSITY HOLDS VICE-CHANCELLOR 'S COCKTAIL DINNER,STAFF AWARD NIGHT
As part of activities to mark the 4th combined convocation ceremony, Bingham University held a Vice Chancellor’s Cocktail Dinner and award night on Friday, November 4, 2022 with many dignitaries from Bingham University's Board of Trustees, Council as well as the Representatives of the Vice Chancellors of the Federal University, Lafia and Gombe State University in attendance.
In his opening remarks, the Vice Chancellor, Prof B. W. Qurix, OFR, expressed gratitude to God for the success recorded since his assumption of duty as the Vice-Chancellor of the University five years ago. Professor Qurix articulated his deep appreciation to the ECWA Executive, the Board of Trustees, Council, Senate, Management and the entire members of staff for their commitment and excellent service towards the development of the University.
He stated that his stay in Bingham University has been an eventful one and as a mark of his deep appreciation to the entire staff of the University, he thought it right to award some staff for their service to the University. He stressed that his choice of the staff for the awards does not in any way mean that there are no other staff who are equally doing their best towards the development of the University.
On his part,the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the University ,Dr. Arome Okwori in his remarks on behalf of the ECWA President, appreciated the Vice Chancellor, Management, Senate and the entire members of staff of the University for their sacrificial service that has brought the University to where it is today.
Similarly, Prof.James Saliba in his remarks ascribed the success of the University to the leadership provided by the Vice Chancellor and the dedication of all members of staff. He acknowledged the tremendous changes in the University since2017.
The representatives of the Vice Chancellors of Gombe State University and Federal University, Lafia, Professor Dugga and Professor Abdulrahman Umar gave their remarks on behalf of their principals. They expressed their warm appreciation for the opportunity given to them to participate in the Vice Chancellor’s Cocktail Dinner and Award Night. They commended Professor Qurix and the entire members of staff for bringing stability into the University.
Dr. Uju Ejike, Dean of Science and Technology and Deputy Dean of PG, Associate Professor Bamidele Okoli commended the Vice Chancellor for providing good leadership and appreciated God for how far He has led the University.
The dinner was climaxed with the presentation of awards to deserving members of staff. A total of 67 awards were given out to both teaching and non-teaching staff of the University. This is the first of its kind in the history of the University. The awards were presented in four (4) categories with the awardees coming out to handshake with the dignitaries.
In the Excellent service award category were, Prof Alhassan Yakubu,Prof.Nuhu D.Gado,Arc.Dogara Ayenajeh, Mr.Kunle Ifawoye and Asocc.Prof Dan Ajibili.
In the category of Eccellent Service award were Dr.John Bimba,Dr.Uju Ejike ,Prof Micheal Akpan,Prof Stephen Anzaku and Prof.Haroun Isah .Others are Miss Monica Ankeli,Prof Musa Dankyau,Mr Daburi Misal and Dr (Mrs) Esther Dyaji.
In the category of Meritorious Service were Dr.Hassan Shehu,Assoc.Prof George Chima,Dr.Daniel Emmanuel ,Assoc.Prof Angela Danborno, Assoc. Prof Okoli Bamidele, Mr Afoi Barry,Dr Solomon Oyewole and Miss Wazi Aboki.Others in this category are Dr Desmond Okocha ,Mrs Ruth Martins,Dr Prisca Ochulor and Dr Lilian Adogo.
In the Vice-Chancellor 's Commitment to Service award were Samuel Ayuba,Solomon Sotoya,Jibrin Danladi,Maikudi Dikko,Elizabeth Mailafiya, Joel Mamman ,Dogara Adamu,Adze Yohannah,Justina Nash,Harry Akonti,Arc Deborah Balami and Ado Williams. Others in this category are Donatus Michael, Ishaku Habila ,James Ochagaba, Theophilus Danjuma,Rebecca Andrew,Nelson Christopher, Stella Akson,Kim Dahoro,Danjuma Adamu,Gina Emmanuel S,Nelson Pheobe, Danjuma Adamu,Otinu Dorcas, Joy David, Maikeffi Tanimu,Paul Ndaks ,Hannatu Mbodis, Gata Bukar,Bassey Effiong and Nmadi Ijupi.
Others in the same category are Isaac Ochenjele, Anthony Kure,Sim Clement, Julie Adamu ,Godfrey Dauda,Musa Aikeh ,Comfort Musa,M Alfred Onen and Oyiloye Oluwabunmi.
The Registrar, Dr. Mrs. Esther J. Dyaji who spoke on behalf of the Awardees expressed profound gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for being a trail brazer and for working so hard for the progress of the university. She was equally appreciative for the awards to staff..
