The Federal Government has appointed General Martin L. Agwai, CFR (Rtd.) as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Calabar. In a related development, the Federal Government has also appointed Prof. W. B. Qurix, OFR as a member of the Governing Council of Bayero University Kano. Gen. Martin L. Agwai is the current Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Bingham University while Prof. W. B. Qurix, OFR is the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Bingham University. General Agwai and Prof. Qurix were both inaugurated as Chairman and member of their respective Governing Councils by the Hon. Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu on Thursday, 15th July, 2021 at the Auditorium of the National Universities Commission (NUC). The appointment is for a period of four years.
