Gates Foundation Donates New 18-Seater Bus To Zankli Research Institute, Bingham University, Karu

The Gates Foundation, which focuses on global health, poverty reduction, agricultural development, gender equality, education, policy, and advocacy, has donated an 18-seater bus to the Zankli Research Institute, Bingham University, Karu.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Haruna Kuje Ayuba, commended the Zankli Research Institute for its remarkable contributions to research and innovation. He noted that the institute has continued to project the university positively through its impactful research activities and strategic collaborations.
He charged the institute to ensure the judicious use and proper maintenance of the vehicle to maximize its benefits in advancing the institute’s mandate. The Vice-Chancellor also expressed profound appreciation to the Gates Foundation for the generous grant that facilitated the acquisition of the bus.
Prof. Ayuba urged members of staff to remain dedicated and committed to their responsibilities, emphasizing that hard work, professionalism, and teamwork are essential to achieving the university’s vision of academic excellence and sustainable development.
Speaking earlier, the Director, Zankli Research Institute, Assoc. Prof. John S. Bimba, acknowledged the unwavering support of the Gates Foundation. He noted that the vehicle donated to the institute would enhance operational efficiency, facilitate research activities, and improve mobility for staff engaged in fieldwork and community-based research.
The newly commissioned bus is expected to strengthen the institute’s research operations, enhance fieldwork, and support the effective delivery of its academic and community engagement programmes.
