Vice-Chancellor Pays Courstesy Visit To The Executive Chairman,Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, Seeks Partnership In Areas Of Mutual Interest

In his effort to gain the cooperation of stakeholders to the growth and development of the university, Prof. Haruna Kuje Ayuba and his management team visited the Executive Chairman, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Honorable James B. Thomas to seek for collaborations particularly in the area of infrastructural development.
The Vice-Chancellor stated this, during his visit to the Chairman of the Local Government Area. He commended the Executive Chairman; Hon. Thomas on the role Local Government was playing in providing social amenities in the area and to appreciate the Government of Nasarawa State for constructing the road leading to the university gate years ago. He stated that he was in the Local Government to seek for further partnership in order to foster development in the university, in the area of infrastructure development. He pointed out that a lot can be done in the university in the area of road networking, ICT development Centres, construction of postgraduate school building and lots more; he stated that opportunities are available in the University for the Executive Chairman to write his name in Gold.
He thanked the Executive Chairman and his management for according him with opportunity to visit and share his vision .
Hon. James B. Thomas expressed his appreciation and stated that he was impressed with the visit. He described the visit as first of its kind since his assumption of duty as the Executive Chairman of the Local Government Area, while raising concern over what the Vice-Chancellor had said, stated that lack of funds for projects execution in the area was one of the things militating against development. He called on the States and the Federal Government to consider the plight of Local Government Areas in the country . He stated that he is willing to support the university in any area possible. He commended the University for providing quality education and mentoring of students with morals and needed skills to be self-reliant in their endeavours.
Present at the occasion, was Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Utoh Vakpa Danladi (JP) and DPM, Mrs. Comfort A. Makama and other dignitaries.
