Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Haruna Kuje Ayuba Holds Maiden Congregation Meeting Upon Assumption Of Duty, Shared His Vision For The Next 5 Years

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Haruna  Kuje Ayuba  made known his vision to  members of the University congregation in a meeting held recently at the University Chapel.  

 

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor, stated that on  assumption of office, he and the Principal Officers of the University  visited Faculties, Directorates,Divisions ,Units and College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, Jos Campus to share his vision ,value addition agenda and action   plan  for the next 5 years (2024-2029)in line with the strategic plan of the university.  He stated that value addition agenda had become necessary in order to consolidate on the giant strides achieved by his  predecessor, Prof. W. B. Qurix.

 

He called on members of staff to support his administration in the development of the university in their daily operations and  in line with the vision of Management in the area of quality teaching, collaborative research and impactful community service,  resource verification and accreditation of academic programmes, business modeling to improve university’s funding profile, sustaining fight against all forms of unethical behaviours and maintenance of clean and green campus environment amongst others. 

 

He further pointed out that, some of the challenges faced by Faculties, Departments and Units were part of the challenges of growth and Management shall strive to make the best out of the situations by sourcing avenues to solve the challenges.

 

Prof. Ayuba commended some Faculties and Centres who were already on the trajectory of value addition and encouraged them to upscale their operations to the benefits of university community and the general public.

 

Earlier in his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ayuba had expressed his appreciation to ECWA Executive, Board of Trustees, and Governing Council for the privilege and honour bestowed on him to serve the university in the capacity of Vice-Chancellor.  He thanked and commended the Principal Officers, Management Committee members, Director of Academic Planning, Director of Public Affairs, Director, Linkages and Transnational  Education and Chief Security Officer for their sacrifices, dedication and commitment to duty during the period of his familiarization tour to Karu and Jos Campus.

 

Dean of the faculty of Business Administration, Dr. Christina Zwingina and other members of staff who responded during the meeting commended the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ayuba for his forth-sightedness and stated that members of staff would give him the needed support to succeed.
