Vice-Chancellor Professor Haruna Kuje Ayuba Led A Delegation Of Principal Officers On A Congratulatory Visit To The Federal University Of Applied Sciences, Kachia

The Vice-Chancellor of Bingham University, Prof. Haruna Kuje Ayuba, alongside principal officers and members of the university’s top management team, paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, Prof. William Barnabas Qurix, OFR, FNIA, in Kaduna State.

 

The purpose of the visit was to extend warm congratulations to Prof Qurix on his appointment as the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the newly established federal institution.

 

During the visit, Prof Ayuba expressed heartfelt appreciation for the warm reception accorded his team. He commended Prof. Qurix for his distinguished track record in academia and leadership, particularly for his transformative tenure as the immediate  past Vice-Chancellor of Bingham University. “Professor Qurix elevated Bingham University significantly, and his legacy continues to inspire our progress today,” Professor Ayuba remarked.

 

He also acknowledged the rare distinction of Prof. Qurix, having served as Vice-Chancellor across state, private, and now federal university, a feat attained by very few. He prayed for divine guidance and success for Prof. Qurix in his new role, noting the critical importance of leadership in laying a strong foundation for the future of the Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia.

 

In response, Prof. Qurix expressed gratitude for the visit and lauded the accomplishments of Bingham University under Prof Ayuba’s leadership. He particularly noted the positive impact of the university’s partnership with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) on transnational education and exchange programs, leaveraging on the existing relationship between the two institutions.

 

“A university cannot operate in isolation,” Prof Qurix emphasized. “Collaborations and partnerships, both within and beyond national borders, are vital to institutional growth.” He highlighted the on work ahead as the university prepares to commence student admissions in September 2025 and expressed openness to partnership with Bingham University in strategic areas.

 

The visit concluded with the presentation of a plaque and a congratulatory banner by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Haruna Kuje Ayuba to his counterpart. 

The visit also featured an interactive session between both delegations, fostering dialogue on potential areas of collaboration. It was rounded off with a guided tour of selected university facilities and a group photograph.

 

Accompanying the Vice-Chancellor on the visit were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Musa Dankyau; the Registrar, Mr. Daburi Bello Misal; the University Bursar, Mr. Paul Yaki Yusuf; the University Librarian, Associate Prof. Joshua Sani Maigoi; and the Director of Public Affairs, Ms. Monica Ankeli.
