Bingham University Visits The Defense Space Administration , Seek Areas Of Collaborations And Partnership.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof Musa Dankyau led a team of Deans and Directors to the Defense Space Administration (DSA) to seek for areas of possible collaborations which may include Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES), research collaborations, capacity building, training/workshop, access to specialized laboratories, Cyber Security and joint consultancy partnership.
Prof. Dankyau, appreciated the Management of the Defense Space Administration for the warm welcome accorded his delegation. He further informed them that the university is committed to fostering partnerships with government bodies, industry leaders, and academic institutions to promote innovation, research, and educational excellence toward raising skilled manpower for Nigeria and the world at large including the Military and Paramilitary.
The Deputy Chief of Defence Space Administration, Air Vice Marshal K. A. Odubanjo, who represented the Chief of Defence Space Administration Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Abdullahi Shinkafi, expressed gratitude to the team for the visit and highlighted that the proposed collaboration aligns with one of DSA's mandates: providing resilient and affordable Space and Cyberspace capabilities for the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) and other security agencies. He emphasized the significant strides made by the Air Force in space administration and encouraged the university to consider offering short courses for its civilian staff, as the agency may have an interest in such programs, amongst other areas.
Air Vice Marshal R. A. Odubanjo also emphasized the importance of incorporating mechanisms to monitor graduates of Cyber Security programs to prevent potential societal issues highlighted in the media. He stressed the necessity for the university to educate students on countering cyber threats.
The visit ended with an exchange of souvenirs and a group photograph.
