The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council Bingham University General (RTD) ML Agwai CFR in company of the Vice Chancellor Prof. William B.Qurix OFR recently declared open a three day Peace and Conflict Resolution workshop held at the Faculty of Law auditorium Bingham University.

In his opening speech, he expressed great pleasure being at the workshop, and says he is proud to be associated with Bingham University as the University is at the forefront of peace and conflict. He stated that what motivated his coming was the fact that he is a student of peace.

He advised all participants to focus on salient points from the workshop that can help them have a peaceful environment   than been interested in securing a certificate .He hopes that they would develop analytical skill s that would help them apply knowledge gained to achieve peace . 

Gen Agwai who also recognized the fact that conflict exist in everyday life, encouraged all to become advocates of peace and development. “There is no development without peace and there cannot be peace without development .If we can have peace, then we can have development in the university community and the nation at large” he said.

On his part, the Vice-Chancellor in his welcome speech welcomed all to the workshop and to Bingham University, a vibrant university that impact positively in the life of its students.

Prof. Qurix said that conflicts exist in everyday life which includes conflicts of the heart that is not manifested.

He hopes that the workshop will help solve issues of conflict in our communities.
