The Chartered Institute Of Management Accountants (Cima) Paid A Courtesy Visit To The Vice Chancellor, Prof Haruna Kuje Ayuba.

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) recently paid a visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Haruna Kuje Ayuba, at the university. The delegation was led by Dr. Emomitimi Agama, who serves as the Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Accompanying him were Mrs. Ijeoma Anadozie, the Country Director of CIMA, Mrs. Cynthia Okoli, the Business Development Manager, and Mr. Iloka.

 

Dr. Agama stated that the purpose of their visit was to engage with the accounting students of the university, providing insights and guidance on career path development within the accounting profession and ensuring their future relevance in the field. He stated that CIMA is the world’s largest professional body of management accountants, offering the most relevant accounting qualification for a career in business. Dr. Agama hinted that the engagement with students is aimed at equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate their career journey successfully.

 

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Haruna Kuje Ayuba, welcomed the delegation congratulated Dr. Agama following his appointment as the DG of SEC, praying that God would grant him wisdom and courage to take SEC to great new heights. Prof Ayuba appreciated the visit as it would positively impact students, enabling them to decide on their next steps in professional career development with clarity about the direction they are heading.

The visit was facilitated by Dr. Christy Zwingina, the Dean of the Faculty of Accounting, along with Associate Professors Arumona and Orbunde from the Accounting department.
