Federal Ministry Of Justice Donates Journals To Bingham University

In recognition of Bingham University's rising profile, the Federal Ministry of Justice has donated journals and books to the Law faculty of the University.
The donation of Law publication to the university,the first of its kind to any institution by the Federal Ministry of Justice, according to the donors, is intended to enhance legal education in the country. While handing over the journals, the Deputy Director, Library and Information Services, Dr. Bayo Fanimehin, said that this was a significant gesture and commended the Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, for the approval to donate the publications to the university. He added that the request came to the Minister of Justice, who graciously and expeditiously approved the donations to the university.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN, Director of Legal Drafting Barr. Mamman Tahir, conveyed the Minister's warm regards and congratulated the university for the successful take-off of its Faculty of Law. He added that the donations were made as “part of the ministry's corporate social responsibility to promote continuing legal education in the country”. Barr. Tahir stated that the ministry was optimistic that the university would put the materials to good use for the overall benefit of legal education.
Responding, the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. W. B. Qurix, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A. B. Adelaiye in company of the Ag. University Librarian, Dr. D. Ajibili, appreciated the Federal Ministry of Justice for the generous donation to the university. He stated that the donation would go a long way in providing students and lecturers of the Faculty of Law with the required materials for studies. Prof. Adelaiye added that Bingham University was making strides in other areas such as Medicine and ICT and that the donations would spur the university to do more.
Some of the books donated include; the all Nigeria Law Reports 1989, Vol 1 part 1 (5 Cartons), International Finance and External Debt Management publications, (1 Carton), Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, Abuja 1990 (7 Cartons), Justice Journal (10 Cartons), Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (8 Cartons), the laws of the Federation of Nigeria (2 Cartons).
